Justine Last (Jennifer Aniston) is a young, unhappily married salesclerk whose boring life is turned upside down when she begins an affair with Holden Worther (Jake Gyllenhaal), the strange new cashier who thinks he's Holden Caulfield. After discovering that Justine is pregnant, Holden concocts a plan to rob their store and start a new life together on the run from the law.
