After a drunken high speed police chase, former NFL quarterback Paul Crewe (Adam Sandler) finds himself behind bars. Offered a shortened sentence by football obsessed Warden Hazen (James Cromwell), Crewe is tasked with putting together a team of convicts for a rigged game against the prison guards. With help from a well-connected prisoner named Caretaker (Chris Rock) and aging legend Nate Scarborough (Burt Reynolds) as coach, Crewe ends up connecting with his teammates and begins to rethink throwing the game.
