Ernesto Guevara (Gael García Bernal), a medical student, and Alberto Granado (Rodrigo De la Serna), a biochemist, set out on a motorcycle road trip through the rural areas of Latin America to discover its land and its people. On the way to do their medical residency at a leper colony, Guevara and Granado encounter the poverty and suffering of the lower classes and indigenous peoples. Both Guevara and Granado are changed by their experiences, but it is clear that Ernesto has found a new direction for his life. Directed by Walter Salles.
