Wladyslaw Szpilman (Adrien Brody), a renowned composer and pianist, struggles for survival amidst the violence and inhumanity of World War II. After his family is taken to a concentration camp, Szpilman spends time doing forced labor before escaping to hide in the ruins of Warsaw, scavenging for food and shelter.
