Dr. Albert Frock (James Whitmore ) works for the Chicago Museum of Natural History doing field acquisitions. After returning from South America with a collection of items, a series of murders convinces Frock that something unnatural is out there. Calling on the help of Dr. Margo Green (Penelope Ann Miller) and Lt. Vincent D'Agosta (Tom Sizemore), he must contain the monster before it turns the museum into a morgue.
