This film is based on the true story of Mark Whitacre (Matt Damon), the highest-ranked corporate whistler-blower in American history. Whitacre, who suffered from bi-polar disorder, nevertheless put himself on the line to expose corrupt business practices at Archer Daniels Midland, his employer. The film contrasts his own indiscretions and his struggles with his mental problems against his heroism. Scott Bakula is an FBI agent and Melanie Lynskey plays Whitacre's wife.
