After finishing working as volunteers in China, Americans Roy (Woody Harrelson) and Jessie (Emily Mortimer) take the Trans-siberian Express train from Beijing to Moscow. Along the way, they meet Carlos (Eduardo Noriega) and Abby (Kate Mara), two fellow travelers, and make an instant bond. But, when Roy gets separated from the group, Jessie realizes that Carlos and Abby aren't who they seem to be.
