Having just solved a big case involving a serial killer, Jessica Shepard (Ashley Judd) is promoted and assigned a new partner, Mike Delmarco (Andy Garcia). When the two officers are called to investigate a crime scene, Jessica recognizes the victim as a former boyfriend.
