Larry David, of television's Curb Your Enthusiasm, stars as Boris, a misanthropic, hypochondriac retired physicist who spends most of his days complaining to friends in a coffee shop. But when he meets a beautiful young woman (Evan Rachel Wood) with nowhere to go, he takes her in. Charmed by her openness, he falls in love with her. When her Southern parents (Patricia Clarkson and Ed Begley Jr.) come looking for her, they are appalled to find her in a relationship with a man 40 years her senior.
