When a young Afghan girl named Osama (Marina Golbahari) and her mother (Zubaida Sahar) lose their jobs at a hospital closed by the Taliban, they are left alone in the world. Her father and brother, both killed in battle, were the only ways for the women to leave their house since the Taliban requires a male escort for any woman.
